Created for Rhythm Jam 2024.

The theme of this game jam is "divergence", which inspired me to create a game that tells the story of two peoples' lives going on divergent paths, like two friends growing apart, or a romance fading out.

Visually, the lines represent the paths each character takes in life, they cross and weave in beautiful patterns, like the interactions people have with each other. The background colors change to fit the mood.

Musically, each line has a similar but different motif. In part 2, they respond to one another, and combine to create harmony and a more upbeat rhythm. In part 3, they diverge to create something more dissonant and erratic in rhythm.

Gameplay wise, part 1 introduces the mechanic with one line, part 2 introduces faster rhythms possible only with 2 lines taking turns, and part 3 challenges the player further with more erratic rhythms.
